Bryn Jimenez Voice Teacher Sonoma Music Arts Academy is pleased to announce the return to the faculty of voice and piano teacher Bryn Jimenez after a five-month sabbatical in Berlin. While in Germany she studied voice with Professor Jeanette Favero-Reuter of the Hochschule für Musik und Theatre in Leipzig, soprano Roberta Cunningham, and coached with William Spaulding of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Ms. Jimenez has been a regular performer with the Golden Gate Opera, Oakland Lyric Opera and the Jarvis Conservatory and recently sang the role of Dido in the Vallejo Music Theatre production of Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas”. Her other roles have included Dorabella in Mozart’s “Cosi fan Tutte” with the Amadeus Operensemble in Salzburg, Austria, Tessa in “The Gondoliers” with the Fraser Valley Gilbert & Sullivan Society, and Stephano in “Romeo et Juliette” with the Opera Studio at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Ms. Jimenez has won many awards, including scholarships from the East Bay Opera League and Mayflower Choral Society, and the overall first prize, the most promising voice award, the melodie award, the concert group award, and the opera award at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival, and was a semi-finalist in the Concours de l’interpretation de la musique Francaise de Montreal in Quebec. Ms. Jimenez holds Associates Degrees in vocal performance and teaching from the Victoria Conservatory of Music in Victoria, BC and a Bachelor of Music from the Vancouver Academy of Music in Vancouver, BC. She currently studies voice with Arden Sugarman, formally of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. |
